UTICA, NY – Freshman forward Tim Coffman (Laconia Leafs (AJHL) / Elverson, PA) of the Utica College men’s ice hockey team was named the ECAC Men’s West Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 26, 2008.
Coffman netted his first collegiate goal to tie the game between Utica and Fredonia at 1-1 Friday. He later scored again to give Utica a 3-1 lead. Fredonia would eventually battle back to tie the contest up at 3-3. The Pioneers earned a tie on the evening but won the experimental shootout in seven rounds.
The Pioneers are now 0-1-1 and travel to Hershey Park Arena to take on ECAC Men's West Conference rival Lebanon Valley College on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.
Coffman, while playing for the Laconia Leafs (AJHL) in 2007-08, led the league with an astonishing 82 points! (43 goals and 39 assists).
