Leafs Stay perfect in 5 Shootouts, winning again at Home vs Bulldogs!

Laconia, NH – After skating to a 1-1 tie through regulation and overtime, the Laconia Leafs and Boston Bulldogs went to the shootout in the final regular season weekend of AJHL league play. The Leafs prevailed for the league win, as Hayden Kowalski, Brandon Dennis and Jason Olson all converted their shootout attempts and Sam Avoine made the final save, to win the shootout against the struggling Bulldogs.

Boston led 1-0 (G- Tucker Mullin A –Eric Steinour A – Steve Weston), at the end of the first period before the Leafs tied the game with a goal of their own (G - Brandon Dennis A – Geno Melone) in the third stanza.

"Boston is a solid team," said Leafs head coach Will Fay. "We had a great first 2 periods and their goaltender was strong. The third period was pretty even and we even took control at times, but could not score. They also had some quality chances, and Sam Avoine, who has proven all year, was equal to the task, making some 38 saves in net."

"We were about as complete a team in terms of the style of play as I have seen this season, and have proven that we can go up and down with the best teams in the league. I liked our approach tonight and it turned out the way we wanted it to. This was good win for us."

The Leafs remained perfect in shoutouts this season winning an AJHL record 5 straight!
