Leafs announce 2nd Affiliation
2009-10-01
The Laconia Leafs of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League (Tier III, Junior A) and the NJ Kings of the International Junior Hockey League (IJHL Super Elite) have announced an affiliation agreement between the two organizations.
This is a great opportunity for the organizations to develop a relationship to maximize the development of players while moving players between the two clubs.
Will Fay, Leafs General Manager commented, “We are excited to formalize our agreement with the Kings by providing an opportunity for players to advance from the Kings to Junior A. In addition, we hope we can provide players to the Kings, that may be a year or two away from playing for us.”
Glenn Carey , Kings General Manager commented on the new affiliation, “Being able to partner with an established brand like the Laconia Leafs, and Coach Fay, is a positive step which will allow the NJ Kings additional avenues to promote our players. I look forward to working with Will and the Leafs in the coming seasons.”
